1/8 Engineer

Journey through time in AMRITA VISHWA VIDYAPEETHAM Finally....I've finished my 1st semester(i hope....still the results are not out). As I'm bored to hell right now I'm going to talk about my college. Joining Amrita is one of the turning points in my life. It is a total different experience for me...the transition from school to college. I met and made so many friends. The academic side is kind of pain in the neck. The syllabus that i had was programing in C, Thermodynamics, Electrical engineering, Cultural education, Engineering drawing, English, calculus and matrix(i totally hate it), Chemistry.

I was so techno savvy and did not believe in any kind of spirituality but i personally think that they instilled spirituality in me. Prayer in the morning everyday may have changed me. And how can i forget the trip to Amritapuri. We started from ettimadai campus at 3 pm and reached there at 12 in the midnight. It was really a long trip but it seemed like a joy ride. That was the first time i went to kerela. Kochin was kewl. When we were waiting to meet amma the crowd was huge and i didnt believe i could get darshan but after waiting from 8 in the morning to 8 in the evening i was finally in the queue. I'm lucky to have met Amma and got her darshan. Maybe that vibe of energy was all that i needed to realize that there is a unknown power. The Trip gave me so many experiences and many friends. There were so many foreigners who left everything behind and serve the math. The campus there was also cool. we went roaming around the campus. And there i stood for hours seeing the waves first time...yea its the Arabian sea.

And when we were returning back we went to AIMS(Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences). The campus was ultra awesome. It gave me second thoughts of joining this campus and studying medicine LOL. we were roaming all over and finally we started our journey back. The next day i had electronics workshop. No one studied anything we all wrote something despite our protest. It was totally stressful when it came to balancing my life. There was no time because my daily timetable was like get up at 6-get ready and go to bus stop before 7.30- reach campus at 8.40- study(sarcastic)-get on the bus at 5-come home at 6- play war rock for 1 hour-study for some time and go to bed at 9 or 10. I made the mistake not studying the day's portion and suffered the day before the periodicals and the endsem. Yea and the questions were not easy. They tested our understanding and most of the questions were problems. Lucky me i was weak at mugging up theory and i actually made an average performance, wish i had done better. The only thing that i didn't like was maths. Dam those series and sequence chapter...i was like i understood but was not able to do any sums those teachers gave me. The programming labs were fun. And not to forget our Ed teacher(vinodh). He was full of fun. We enjoyed every class and in the labs we seldom draw. most of the classes finished 14 sheets but we finished only 7.In the end sem 60 out of 100 marks were out of portion and we got pass with the grace marks. I really hated chemistry labs. That lab teacher never gave me nice marks,i never get good titration values. But it was fun though. Thermodynamics was interesting to me. Electrical was also a bit interesting but i never get a correct answer there is always a conflicting answer with me. There was Gokulastami celebrations which was really awesome. We enjoyed every bit screaming and checking out some chicks. And Hell yea we were lucky. The place was totally crowed.

The campus is surrounded by hills and clouds. Its a cool place to study.
Everyday after class most of the day scholars sit in front of the Amriteshwari hall or canteen and i really enjoyed hanging around there. But the only thing that i didn't experience is ragging not even a friendly one. The boring part was the travelling part. Imagine 1 hour of sitting simply in the bus. Most of the time i take a quick nap or study. And seniors rag some of the juniors and it was really hilarious. And that's when after the end semester exam my 1/8Th of my journey had come to an end .
